From small business to Entrepreunariaship, Esperance UKUNA explain to us how her life and that of her family have changed because of the financial services and the training program of CEMADEF.

Apart is main activities which are Financial services and the training, the NGO is also active in social sector, in few months  ago,CEMADEF provided logistical and financial support to the gender service of Katoto in Djugu in order to bring a 3 days old baby abandoned by his mother to a bar commonly called << Nganda >> towards to Saint –Kizito sisters orphanage at Mudzi –pela center. The baby is doing well. CEMADEF promises to continue to visit the baby and bring some assistance to him and appealling to good samaritans to come and assist the baby in order to help him to grow well like all other children.

On Saturday January 23, 2021, under the theme « RECOGNITION IS FROM THIS WORLD », the 6th edition of ITURI AWARDS honored CEMADEF with a trophy of excellence for their empowerment and promotion of women entrepreneurship in the ITURI province. The General Director Fanny UKETY took the occasion to thank the organizers for this innovative initiative. She also mentioned that “This trophy is dedicated to the team and CEMADEF beneficiaries, including all the Ituri women who work hard to provide for their families".

The Cooperative Ujamaa Tsere project site of CEMADEF continues to produce good quality organic vegetables for the town of Bunia! This week the site delivered cabbages, carrots, tomatoes and celery. The first clients are always the beneficiaries of CEMADEF’s microcredit program. Whole sale buyers, restaurants, hotels, Monusco expats and the Bamanisa Foundation are all partners of the project who purchase big quanities.

A march organized by the beneficiaries of CEMADEF on April 8, 2019 to denounce the poliation of their land. The beneficiaries are challenging the final verdict announced in the case RP 1245 / CD of the Irumu Peace Court and are asking the authorities to review all the documents in the file. The case has been moved to the court of appeals.
