Cooperative Ujamaa
CEMADEF has just recently enriched its services by creating another program named “Cooperative UJAMAA” which means family. This program is advocating for people to start working together in agriculture cooperatives. There is more power and efficiency when working with a united team.
At the moment, two projects are being implemented: Ujamaa Nyankunde and Ujamaa Tsere which is on the outskirts of the town of Bunia. The cooperatives are being supported with seeds and equipment to grow crops and vegetables with the guidance of an agronomist and are also being helped in the search of markets for the commercialization of their harvest.
